RED CROSS RESPONDS TO THREE MORE FIRES
Dayton Area Chapter Extremely Active in 2007
Dayton, Ohio, February 20, 2007 - The Dayton Area Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to three more residential fires on Saturday in Dayton, Kettering and Trotwood, including the fatal fire at 4664 Croftshire Drive in Kettering.
Two adults were impacted by a mobile home fire at 4400 Daleview in Dayton and three adults and eight children were victims of a house fire at 6469 Waywind Drive in Trotwood. In response to both incidents, the Dayton Area Chapter of the American Red Cross provided emergency shelter at local motels. For the house fire victims, the Chapter also provided comfort kits and vouchers for clothing and meals.
The Kettering fire destroyed three adjacent apartments at 4662, 4664 & 4666 Croftshire Drive and resulted in the death of an elderly resident. Three other adults escaped the blaze, one with minor injury. The injured resident was provided with motel accommodations, prescription assistance, meals, clothing, replacement eye glasses and mental health counseling. The two others did not request emergency shelter, but were provided with vouchers for clothing and food.
The first two months of 2007 have been active for the Dayton Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and for local fire departments and first responders.
