Local Disaster Response

Red Cross Provides Shelter for Victims of the Devastating Centerville Apartment Fire

Centerville, Ohio, January 9, 2009 – When news of the apartment fire at the Villager Apartments in Centerville broke, The Dayton Area Chapter of the American Red Cross immediately dispatched the Disaster Relief Team and volunteers to the scene.

In total, 14 people – eight families – were affected by the fire, leaving them without a place to live. The Red Cross has provided shelter, food and much needed emotional support. “At times like this, you have to remember that we need to take care of each other,” said Jodi Davis from the Red Cross. “These families are innocent victims of this tragedy and we are here to help them in any way possible.”
